In Jonah chapter 1 we find that Jonah is the recipient of two actions from his sovereign God.
- God calls Jonah.
- Jonah is validated (v. 1).
- Jonah is commissioned (v. 2).
- Jonah is disobedient (v. 3).
- God pursues Jonah.
- God hurled a storm (v. 4).
- The sailors hurled cargo (vv. 5,6).
- The sailors hurled lots (vv. 7-10).
- The sailors hurled Jonah (vv. 11-15a).
- God sends deliverance
- To the sea (v. 15b).
- To the sailors (v. 16).
- To Jonah (v. 17).
