In John 1:35-51 we are shown 10 fundamentals of true evangelism and discipleship. This is a two-part sermon, so the highlighted parts below are what was covered this week.
True evangelism and discipleship:
- Will be centered on Christ (vs. 35-36).
- Will remain connected to Christ (vs. 37-39).
- Will bring others to Christ (vs. 40-42a).
- Will involve people being changed by Christ (v. 42b).
- Will confront people with obedience to Christ (vs. 43-44).
- Will confess the truth of Christ from Scripture (v. 45).
- Will confront skeptics with Christ (v. 46).
- Will rely on the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit (vs. 47-48).
- Will demand a confession of Christ alone (v. 49).
- Will point to Christ as the only way to heaven (vs. 50-51).
