In Matthew 9:18-34 Jesus continues to present Himself as the Messiah as He performs four more miracles.
- Jesus heals Jairus’ daughter.
- Jairus makes his request (v. 18).
- Jesus and His disciples go (v. 19).
- Jesus dismisses the laughing mourners (vv. 23, 24).
- Jesus raises the dead child (v. 25).
- Jesus’ actions gain fame (v. 26).
- Jesus heals the hemorrhaging woman.
- The woman seeks and touches Jesus (vv. 20, 21).
- Jesus affirms the woman’s faith and confirms her healing (v. 22).
- Jesus heals two blind men.
- The men plead for mercy from Jesus (v. 27).
- Jesus tests their faith (v. 28).
- Jesus affirms their faith and heals them (vv. 29, 30a).
- Jesus commands and the men disobey (vv. 30b, 31).
- Jesus casts out a demon.
- The demon-possessed mute man is brought to Jesus (v. 32).
- Jesus casts out the demon and the mute man speaks (v. 33a).
- The crowds are amazed (v. 33b).
- The Pharisees scoff (v. 34).
In Matthew 9:18-34 we are shown seven traits of Jesus’ character as Healer as He performs four more miracles.
- Jesus is compassionate.
- Jesus is sacrificial.
- Jesus is available.
- Jesus is touchable.
- Jesus is impartial.
- Jesus is kind.
- Jesus is accepting.

In Matthew 9:9-17 Jesus continues to claim His deity as He answers two questions.
- Jesus answers a questions about fellowship.
- Matthew is called into fellowship (v. 9).
- Jesus fellowships with the undesirables (v. 10).
- The self-righteous ones question Jesus’ righteousness (v. 11).
- Jesus challenges the self-righteous ones.
- Do the sick not need a physician (v. 12)?
- Compassion is more important than sacrifice (v. 13a).
- I came to compassionately call sinners, not the righteous (v. 13b).
- Jesus answers a question about fasting.
- John’s disciples question Jesus’ ways (v. 14).
- Jesus corrects their thinking.
- Joy now, fasting later (v. 15).
- The gospel is completely new (vv. 16, 17).
