In Ephesians 4:25-5:2 Paul presents 5 practical examples of what it means to “lay aside the old self� (4:22) and “put on the new self� (4:24).

  1. Lay aside speaking falsehood & put on speaking truth (v. 25).
  2. Lay aside sinful anger & put on defensive anger management (vv. 26, 27).
  3. Lay aside stealing and put on laboring for good (v. 28).
  4. Lay aside unwholesome words and put on edifying, grace-giving words (vv. 29, 30).
  5. Lay aside worldly vices & put on godly character (4:31-5:2).
