Pastor Rob Davis: Eph. 6:1-4

In Ephesians 6:1-4, Paul gives four commands concerning subjection in the children/parent relationship.

1. Children must obey your parents.
   1. How? In the Lord (v. 1a).
   2. Why? Because it is right (v. 1b).
2. Children must honor your parents.
   1. Reason #1: You will benefit (vv. 2-3a).
   2. Reason #2: You will live long (v. 3b).
3. Fathers must not provoke your children (v. 4a).
4. Fathers must teach your children.
   1. Lesson #1: The discipline of the Lord (v. 4b).
   2. Lesson #2: The instruction of the Lord (v. 4c).
