Pastor Rob Davis: Matt. 21:33-46

In Matthew 21:33-46 we hear Jesus teach the parable of the wicked tenants and gracious land owner and we learn 8 truths about the kingdom of God.

1. God cares for and provides everything needed for the Kingdom to produce fruit (v. 33).
2. God is long-suffering with the inhabitants of His Kingdom (vv. 34, 36a, 37).
3. Inhabitants of the Kingdom can be exceedingly sinful (vv. 35, 36b, 38, 39, 45, 46).
4. God is full of grace and mercy in the sending of His Son, the King and central figure of the Kingdom (v. 37).
5. God will judge those who claim to be members of His Kingdom but who bear no fruit (vv. 40, 41).
6. Christ is the Chief Cornerstone, the sure Foundation, of His Kingdom (v. 42).
7. True members of the Kingdom are known because they produce the fruit of the Kingdom: Righteousness because of faith in Christ (v. 43).
8. False members of the Kingdom will be judged for their lack of fruit: rejection of Christ (v. 44).

Pastor Rob Davis: Matt. 21:23-32

In Matthew 21:23-32 we witness the asking of three questions which reveal the authority of Jesus and the hearts of the Jewish leaders.

1. The Jewish leaders question the source of Jesus’ authority (v. 23).
2. Jesus questions the quality of the Jewish leaders’ integrity (vv. 24-27).
3. Jesus questions the authenticity of the Jewish leaders’ devotion to God (vv. 28-32).

Pastor Rob Davis: Matt. 21:18-22

In Matthew 21:18-22 Jesus continues to present Himself as Messiah by condemning Israel for her unfaithfulness (fruitlessness) and teaching that true faith will be evidenced by bearing two kinds of fruit.

1. True faith will bear internal fruit: Outward trappings of worship will reveal, and flow from, a changed heart (vv. 18, 19).
2. True faith will bear external fruit: God will accomplish the impossible through His people as they pray believing (not doubting) in Him (vv. 20-22).

Pastor Rob Davis: Matt. 21:12-17

In Matthew 21:12-17 Jesus announces Himself as the Messiah by involving Himself in three more Messianic actions:

1. Jesus, the Messiah, comes into the temple to purify it (vv. 12, 13).
2. Jesus, the Messiah, heals the blind and the lame (v. 14).
3. Jesus, the Messiah, accepts praise and worship due only to God (vv. 15-17).

Pastor Rob Davis: Noah: Justified by Faith

In the account of Noah and the flood found in Genesis 6:1-9:20, we observe four proofs that Noah was justified by faith.

1. Universal judgment was because of sin (6:6-7; 17).
2. Particular Redemption was because of grace (6:8; 18-21).
3. Faith was demonstrated by Noah’s obedience (6:22; 7;5; Hebrews 11:7).
4. Faith was credited to Noah as righteousness (6:9; 7:1; Hebrews 7:11).
