How to subscribe and burn a CD

  1. Open iTunes (I’m running 7.0.2, all the “7″ versions should be similar).
  2. From the “Advanced” menu at the top, pull down “Subscribe to podcast…”
  3. In the field that comes up, under “URL:”, enter this address: http://sermons.gracecommunitybiblechurch.net/category/podcast/feed
  4. Click “OK”
  5. In iTunes under “Podcasts,” you should see “Grace Community Bible Church Sermons,” and be able to download the last 10-15 sermons right from there. They will automatically show up there from now on when I put a new one up, so you don’t have to check the website anymore.
  6. At the bottom left of the iTunes window is a big “+” (plus) button. Push that. It should create a new playlist and you can type a name for it (call it whatever you like, maybe “sermon CD” is fine).
  7. Drag the sermon you want to burn to CD from “Podcasts” to the “sermon CD” playlist on the left.
  8. Click the “sermon CD” playlist on the left.
  9. In the File menu, choose “Burn playlist to disc…”
  10. After a few seconds, it should eject your CD-ROM drive (if you have one that loads like that) and a blinking message at the top of the iTunes window will say, “Please insert a blank disc…”
  11. Put a blank CD-R into the drive.
  12. Wait while it writes the CD.
  13. When it’s done, it will make a happy sort of noise and your CD will show up in iTunes under “Devices” on the left hand side.

That’s it! Just eject the CD and try it out then. You can reuse that “sermon CD” playlist, but make sure you delete the audio file from the playlist before you drag another one over; you won’t get two sermons fitting on one CD too often. You can delete it just by left-clicking on “sermon CD” on the left, right-click on the name of the sermon on the right, and choose “Delete.” It won’t delete that from your computer, so you could still listen to it there, or burn it again someday, if you wanted.
